Bateson Horseboxes

Bateson Trailers have developed a strong reputation within the equine industry for manufacturing horse trailers which are as strong and well built as they are stylish and befitting. All Bateson Horsebox Trailers have Avonride softride fully independent rubber suspension, automatic reversing brakes and a hydraulically damped hitch with a cast coupling and power assisted hand-brake. The chassis and frames are all galvanised steel with a profiled tow bar section.

The sides are paneled with specially manufactured with glassfibre and plywood laminated panels and the ramps are also bonded with non slip rubber. The roof is heat reflecting, white plastic coated galvanised steel with a moulded glassfibre front section and a front windows ventilator. Internally the sides and galvanised steel division are fitted with special vacuum formed padding panels, and a head divided rail is also fitted together with tubular breast bars which are padded and adjustable for height. All trailers have removable rubber floor mats, ramp lifting springs, lockable grooms door, front grab handles, full road lights and interior lamp, four internal tying rings and two external tying rings.

Derby 44

The Derby is a modern rear unload double horse trailer with 7’ headroom. Its exceptionally low unladen weight makes it suitable for use behind larger saloon cars. The maximum gross weight is 1700kg but this can be reduced as required if used with only one horse. If the total weight of car trailer and load is less than 3500kg it can be used with the new standard car driver’s license.

The trailer is fitted with a large front window similar to the Deauville to be able to see the horses during transport and a rot proof plastic and galvanised steel floor for total security. Standard equipment comprises centre division, full front bar and half rear bars, internal spare wheel, rear door top cover, coupling mirror and hitch lock.

Deauville 55

The Deauville has a generous 7’ 3" headroom allowing horses up to 17 hands to be transported. Easily operable centrally hinged division, plenty of space for entry and exit, double internal saddle rack and cover. The larger front window incorporating a coupling mirror, combined with the white interior gives a very light and airy environment and allows a view of the horse during transit.

The trailer has a plastic and galvanised steel floor with two 18mm thick, removable rubber stall mats. Full width front and rear bars are available for use with the division removed. The standard rear ramp has a steel top door that lifts on gas struts.

The Ascot horse trailer has a similar capacity to the Deauville, but has a lockable saddle cupboard inside the front with bridle hooks and a lift out tray. It has a very smart and distinctive appearance with the aerodynamic nose cone and stylish mudguards incorporating triple rear lamps.

The floor is rot proof, plastic and galvanised steel with 18mm thick removable stall mats

This top of the range model is also available with either a ramp door or optional ‘Boston’ doors similar to the Deauville.
