Bateson Trailers have developed a strong reputation within the equine industry for manufacturing horse trailers which are as strong and well built as they are stylish and befitting. All Bateson Horse Box Trailers have Avonride softride fully independent rubber suspension, automatic reversing brakes and a hydraulically damped hitch with a cast coupling and power assisted hand-brake. The chassis and frames are all galvanised steel with a profiled tow bar section. The sides are paneled with specially manufactured with glassfibre and plywood laminated panels and the ramps are also bonded with non slip rubber. The roof is heat reflecting, white plastic coated galvanised steel with a moulded glassfibre front section and a front windows ventilator. Internally the sides and galvanised steel division are fitted with special vacuum formed padding panels, and a head divided rail is also fitted together with tubular breast bars which are padded and adjustable for height. All trailers have removable rubber floor mats, ramp lifting springs, lockable grooms door, front grab handles, full road lights and interior lamp, four internal tying rings and two external tying rings.

		Trailer Models
		Derby 44 The Derby is a modern lightweight double horse trailer with a full 7' headroom. The standard Derby has a full width breast bar, centre division and two rear bars. The Derby Foal is supplied without the centre division and with a full width rear bar for a single horse or a mare and foal. Deauville 55 The Deauville is a very successful front horse trailer with a generous 7'3" headroom, standard equipment includes a spare wheel cover, and a unique hinge down flap over the rear door supported by gas springs. The Pullman model has a shorter front ramp with a top door, a centrally hinged division to simplify loading and unloading, a removable twin saddle rack and cover positioned in the spacious front area and has distinctive Pullman stripes. Any of these options are available on a standard Deauville. Boston 55 The Boston is derived from the Deauville but has separately opening side hinged rear doors and a short pull out ramp that slides under the floor. Two flaps at the top of the doors can be used to adjust the ventilation. This loading system is used extensively in America and is becoming very popular in Continental Europe. It has the added benefit of being able to load with a forklift truck for many alternative uses. A Pullman model is available with the same features as the Deauville Pullman. Ascot The Ascot trailer has 7'3" headroom and will accommodate two horses up to 17 hands whilst keeping the overall dimensions and weight to a minimum. The very attractive aerodynamic styled front incorporates a front window giving a light interior and a good view of the horses in transit and an ingenious mirror which allows the trailer hitch and vehicle ball to be seen by the driver during coupling, eliminating miss-alignment, struggling and damaged bumpers, and a lockable compartment inside for two saddles and tack, with a lift out tray. Stylish mudguards accommodate large rear lamp units with twin fog lamps and remove any protrusions from the side of the trailer which may injure the horses.  Protection bars are fitted which can also be used as hitching rails. The light interior has a centrally hinged division with side padding and adjustable breaching bars. A 5' high grooms door is also provided to allow easy access, without inviting the horse to use it! Equipment includes an interior lamp, spare wheel carrier and a locking hitch.  It is available with either a ramp door and top flap or American style side hinged rear doors and a pull out ramp.
