The range of Bateson General Purpose trailers has been design to offer maximum strength with a low unladen weight, combined with modern appearance and safe, stable towing characteristics. All models have a hot dipped galvanised steel chassis with 2mm thick pre-galvanised steel sides 300mm deep and an 18mm phenol coated non-slip plywood floor. All trailers are available with a full range of optional equipment to suit exact requirements, including expanded metal ramp doors with lifting springs and extension sides with a fixed front and two removable mesh side panels. The independent rubber suspension axles have autoreversing brakes, operated by cast steel hydraulic damped over run coupling with a power assisted hand brake and integral jockey wheel.  Full road lights are fitted and the specially designed damage resistance mudguards are fitted with aluminium tread plate 'stand on' tops on twin axle models.

Models 26MD and 35MD have been designed to transport Mini Excavators up to 2100kg and 2840kg respectively. They are fabricated with a heavy-duty hot dipped galvanised box steel chassis with integral welded steel mudguards. Both models are available with an optional full width ramp door and steel infilled sides. However, this increases the unladen weight and reduces the payload slightly.
